About the role

A maternity relief position has become available for a Registered Nurse, who is passionate about women's health, adolescent education and best practice in women's health clinical practice. The successful applicant will work within a dedicated, small, multidisciplinary team focusing on health promotion and clinical practice. The Women's Health nurse is an integral role in Primary and Preventative Health and based at the Frances Hewett Community Centre. This is a 3 day per week, temporary position.

The Community Health Nurse (Women's Health) role includes

  • Assessment and management of clients using nursing knowledge and skills and may include, but is not limited to, the direct referral of patients to other health care professionals.
  • Conduct Cervical screening, including Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) assessment and advice.
  • Work with the members of the Men's Health Team to jointly undertake school programs for students and parents on sexual health and respectful relationships.
  • Deliver information sessions for community groups and organise women's health education for staff and through women's health forums.

 You will bring:

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Minimum of 5 years' post graduate experience with Women's Health including cervical screening 
  • Previous experience working in Women's Health
  • Interest in school and community education programs
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Advanced communication skills
  • High levels of energy
  • AHPRA Registration

The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a current National Criminal Police Check. A current Working with Children Check Clearance and NDIS Worker Screening Check is required for this role. All successful applicants are to comply with WDHS immunisation and vaccination requirements.
