About the role

An opportunity exists in our Health Information Services Department for a motivated person with excellent customer service to join our team.

The Health Information Services (HIS) - Data Officer is an integral team member of the Heath Information Services department who focuses on managing and improving the quality of health data and compliance with policy within WDHS. 

The Health Information Services Data Officer reports directly to the Manager of Health Information Services. 

Duties include:

  •  Responsible for reporting of VEMD, VAED, AROC and ANZICS data whilst ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
  •  Manage the WDHS PRODA account
  •  Submit data for the Victorian Healthcare Experience Survey
  •  Manage the provision of patient information (internally and externally)
  •  Manage Freedom of Information requests (with guidance from the Manager of HIS)
  •  Assistance with medical record forms design/formatting for other departments
  •  Staff Education on the use of the electronic medical record, TrakCare
  •  Undertake user acceptance testing for amendments to the electronic medical record, TrakCare
  •  Ensure that the confidentiality protocols and privacy principles of the Health Records Act and Privacy and Data Protection Act are always maintained.
  • Deputise for the Manager of HIS, as required
  • Other reasonable duties as directed by the Manager of HIS.

The successful applicant will need to be a team player and enjoy working with other departments within the organisation. Confidentiality protocols & privacy principles of the Health Records and Privacy and Data Protection Acts are required to be maintained at all times.

The successful candidate must have or obtain a National Criminal Police Check. Depending on the role, a Working with Children Check Clearance, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check, and/or NDIS Worker Screening Check may also be required. All employees must comply with WDHS vaccination requirements.
