About the role

This role is a permanent part time position working 3 x 7 hour days per week in the Social Support Group, with the potential to work additional hours at different times in the year. This role is primarily at the Hamilton Campus. 

As a Social Support Group leader, you will be required to work with a team of Social Support Leaders to plan, deliver and evaluate activities for participants.

You will be required to assist with transporting participants from and to their homes as well as during outings, enabling active engagement for participants through meaningful activities to maintain and improve independence, confidence and wellbeing.

You will build partnerships to maximise wellness by supporting community participants to build on their strengths and interests to achieve identified goals.

The position includes a mix of administration and working with members. We are seeking a friendly, motivated person who is flexible in a changing dynamic environment. In addition to the advertised hours, there are opportunities to work up additional hours at different times of the year.

You will bring:

  • Certificate III in Leisure and Health, Allied Health Assistant or equivalent
  • A Drivers Licence is essential, Medium Rigid Licence recommended.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A demonstrated capacity to work independently and flexibly

The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a current National Criminal Police Check. Dependant on your position you may be required to obtain a Working with Children Check Clearance and / or NDIS Worker Screening Check. All successful applicants are to comply with WDHS immunisation and vaccination requirements.
