About the role

WDHS is seeking a qualified Carpenter or experienced Handyperson to join our maintenance Department to assist in the general maintenance and repairs to our buildings, plant and equipment.

The successful applicant will work cohesively with all trades in their day-to-day activities, will be reliable and punctual, well-presented and take pride in their work. The Carpenter or experienced handyperson will report to the Facility Manager through the Works Supervisor and duties will include routine maintenance inspections to buildings, plant and equipment, minor building works and general maintenance support.

WDHS is a multi-campus organisation that includes acute and aged care facilities, and the applicant may be required to work across the Hamilton, Coleraine and Penshurst campuses.

 

You will bring:

  • Current Driver's Licence
  • A demonstrated understanding of the importance of teamwork in a health service environment, including the ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with colleagues, supervisors and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work across multiple areas throughout the WDHS Maintenance Department
  • Positive interpersonal skills and a teamwork approach
  • Ability to communicate with a broad range of people
  • Effective time management, planning and organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines

The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a current National Criminal Police/NDIS Check. Dependant on your position you may be required to obtain a Working with Children Check Clearance, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check and / or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
