Registered Nurse - Graduate Program 2024: 

Fixed term contract – 12 months, 64 to 80 hours per fortnight

 

Western District Health Service has an exciting opportunity for a newly graduated registered nurse to participate in the 2024 Graduate Nurse Program.


Western District Health Service is offering an exciting chance for a recently graduated registered nurse to take part in the 2024 Graduate Nurse Program.

The main goal of this program is to provide guided support within the clinical setting, helping to transform existing knowledge into quality outcomes while further developing skills and knowledge for independent learning and practice.

Over the course of 12 months, participants in the program will establish a strong foundation for future career growth. They will have the opportunity to enhance their acute and aged care clinical skills with the assistance of trained preceptors, Practice Development Nurses, and the Graduate Nurse Program Coordinator.

The program includes three rotations, consisting of two rotations in acute care and one rotation in aged care. Additionally, there is a possibility to undertake a specialty rotation in the Emergency Department. All applicants for this position must be registered with the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) - Computer Matching Service and select Western District Health Service as one of their top four preferences.

The Graduate Nurse Program provides positions for three individual specialty rotations. The specialty rotations comprise of acute emergency rotations, aged care rotations and rotations which are predominately acute with one aged care rotation

The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a current National Criminal Police Check. Dependant on your position you may be required to obtain a Working with Children Check Clearance, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check and / or NDIS Worker Screening Check. All successful applicants are to comply with WDHS immunisation and vaccination requirements, including COVID and Booster
