Our Maternity Service supports around 200 women to give birth per year.  Our service is Level 3 Maternity and Level 2 in Nursery, as per the Maternity DHHS Capability Framework and provides care for women of low-risk pregnancies.

The role of the midwife is to work within the multidisciplinary team providing women centred midwifery care. 

An undergraduate or post graduate qualification in midwifery is essential. Relevant midwifery experience and the ability to work as part of a team or independently is preferred. 

The successful applicant will work as part of a dynamic midwifery team providing holistic “woman centred” maternity care to women and their families across the birthing continuum.  

The successful candidate will provide antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal care in a modified case load model of midwifery care to women and their families.

The Registered Midwife will have midwifery skills, knowledge, and attitudes in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Competency Standards.

You will bring:

  • Bachelor of Nursing and Grad Diploma in Midwifery or Direct Entry Bachelor of Midwifery
  • Ability to Obtain Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for consumers
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with experience
  • Prepares written documentation using clean, concise and grammatically correct language
  • Ability to work as part of multi-disciplinary team

Depending on the position the successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a Police Criminal Check, employee Victorian Working with Children Check and be willing to undertake a Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check. Current immunisation records/evidence is required, including COVID.
